Student Group: 10th and 11th Grade Students
The test helps prepare our 10th and 11th grade students for the SAT, college, and careers. Historically, students who take the PSAT/NMSQT score higher on the SAT, on average, than those who do not take the test. The following are other key benefits of the PSAT/NMSQT:

Additionally, students who take the PSAT/NMSQT in 11th grade can typically compete for recognition and scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Program, which honors academically talented students throughout the United States. Through the PSAT/NMSQT, our other scholarship partners identify students qualified to apply for scholarships and recognition programs.
CollegeBoard also offers a Student Search Service, which all students are able to opt-in to during the PSAT/NMSQT. This will allow students to connected with colleges and scholarship partners -- there's over $300 million in scholarships available. Lastly, eligible students who take the PSAT/NMSQT may be invited to one of the CollegeBoard National Recognition Programs, an academic honor they can include in college applications.
Please be on the lookout for a letter to be sent home to every 10th and 11th grade student that will tell you your testing location so you know where to report to on test day. But don't worry, we will have plenty of staff on hand the morning of the test as well in case you need some extra help.
